Featuring art, music, talks and demos, cosplay, an artist alley, a fashion show, gaming, fusion Japanese street food with a Nuevo Mexico twist!
OTaosuCon is created for and by Taos pop culture artists and aficionados of all ages! It is designed to celebrate them and feature the art and vibe they love.
The event will feature an artist alley, cosplay and cosplay fashion show, talks and demonstrations, gaming, workshops, vendors, a Japanese fusion food court, and more!
In addition to community participation and support, the event will be designed and produced by UNM-TAOS students, fostering workforce skills in creative visioning, event design, and production. OTaosuCon aims to create an inclusive cultural event for and by the people of Taos, especially young people, providing them with a space to express their voices and artistic vision while inspiring future student enrollment in our programs.
The inspiration for the name is a hybrid of Taos, the “comic con” approach, and the Japanese word “otaku”: a person having an intense or obsessive interest, especially in the fields of anime and manga — often used before another noun — for example, otaku culture.
The inaugural OTaosuCon will be held on February 21st and 22nd, 2026, at the UNM-Taos Klauer Campus, 1157 County Road 110, Ranchos de Taos, NM 87557, daily from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. A special VIP afterparty will take place in downtown Taos on Saturday evening, location to be announced.
Admission is FREE for this first-time event, but you will need to register to attend and we have limited space, so reserve your badge today!
