Hunter Tripp

Hunter has been obsessed with drawing and storytelling her whole life. Her passion is rooted in finding ways to tell stories and convey messages across many forms of human-made digital media, and in exploring how multiple disciplines and skills can overlap in interesting new ways. She is currently an instructor of 2D Animation and Digital Illustration at UNM-Taos Film & Digital Media Arts (FDMA).

The random lightbulb popped in her head about four years ago to see about holding a small convention in a library to meet people with similar interests. She thought the name “OTaosuCon” was a funny pun (Otaku + Taos + Con) and had a nice ring to it.

Thanks to professional support from Maggie Duval, FDMA Director Peter Walker, and the UNM-Taos admins, staff, and student volunteers, she’s in awe at how it’s grown into something far bigger and more special for her adopted community than she ever imagined!
