What to Expect

Artist and UNM-Taos FDMA 2D Animation/Digital Illustration instructor Hunter Tripp (NadoHunterArt in our Artist Alley) will give a short basic demonstration of basic rigging of characters for 2.5 Animation in Live2D – a software commonly used to set up animation that works with face tracking for VTubers or basic animation for visual novel style games.

About Live 2d

Live2D is a software for breaking 2D drawings apart and deforming/moving many layers to give the illusion of 3D movement- often referred to as 2.5D animation el style games.

Most VTubers are created using Live2D, giving a way for individuals to express themselves in a whole new way using “personas” that are designed and rigged to track their real life movements for the purpose of streaming and other content creation

Anyone who is even a little bit curious about one of the many intersections of 2D and 3D animation, anyone into streaming, anyone interested in creating visual novels, and anyone who is interested in making a character or persona come to life
